This gallery celebrates their unique beauty, capturing their delicate petals and tall spires in full bloom.
Growing Hollyhocks
Hollyhocks are relatively easy to grow and are perfect for adding height and drama to your garden. They thrive in full sun and prefer well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. When planting, space your seeds or seedlings about 18 inches apart to allow for proper airflow and growth. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the warmer months, but avoid overwatering, as they do not tolerate soggy roots.
While they are often grown as biennials or perennials, Hollyhocks may take two years to bloom if grown from seed. They can also attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, making them a great addition to any garden aiming to support local wildlife.
